YOU MUST BE STILL

S: Exodus 14:14 NIV- The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
O: Upon their exodus from Egypt the Israelites were being pursued by Pharaohs army. Seeing the enemy upon them, the Israelites began to grumble under the pressure of their former oppressors. They believed it would be better to have died under the oppression of Egyptian rule, than to die as free people. With and army behind them, and the Red Sea in front of them, Moses addresses the people to reassure them that, "The Lord will fight for you; you only need to be still."
A:It's easy to resort to the patterns of your past life when your present situation leaves you between and rock and a hard place. At some point we all have to make a decision as believers. Will you CONFORM to what you know, or will you TRANSFORM where you are? Moses could have easily went along with the sentiment of the crowd and found himself a slave to the Egyptians, but He choose to allow God you use him as a change agent to literally transform his present situation. The sea had to physically part to make way for a man that had enough faith to know, there was no way he could go back to the same place God already delivered him from. As believer we have to make the decision to BE STILL, stay in the fight, and allow God to take you through the places that seem impossible to get through. "If God has you standing in front of the sea, He always calling you to look beyond the water." Today, remember to BE STILL. You are where you are, because God wants to use you to do something right where you stand.
P: God thank You for where I am today. Always give me the passion to push farther away from where I've been, to get closer to where you have called me. Amen.
