Love And Accept Each Other, It's The Law

S: Exodus 23:9-“Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.

O: As the Israelite were beginning to establish a life outside of Egyptian rule, God gave them a set of laws to be governed by. In order to make sure people where socially responsible, God warns them to not oppress people of a different origin. He expects the Israelites to have grace for foreigners, because they too were once foreigners in a strange land.

A: As believers it is our responsibility to be accepting of all individuals. Every man, women, and child on the planet, qualifies as one of Gods children. It doesn't matter what color, culture, creed, sexual preference, or religion someone may come from, Christians have a mandate to love and accept all people. The Bible says in Colossians 1:16NIV, "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him."  If God created all thing through Himself and for Himself, we need to be accepting of all people He's created.  This is our calling because when we were foreigners, distant to the love and acceptance given to us by the grace of God, Christ still welcomed us with open arms.  It's not our job to judge where people are on the journey, but it is our job to accept, cultivate, and grow people along the way. The Bible teaches us in Mark 12:31 to, "LOVE your neighbor as yourself." You don't have to agree with someone to love them; just love them for who God made them.

P: God thank You for the beautiful variety of people You have brought into my life. I know You love all people. Help me to love ALL PEOPLE the way You do. Amen.
