Obedience Is A Tool

S: Joshua 6:27NLT- So the LORD was with Joshua, and his reputation spread throughout the land.

O: Joshua was the newly appointed leader of the Israelites that God promised would usher His people into the promise land. Upon the death of Moses, Joshua was extremely diligent in following the instructions given to him by God. When the time came for the Israelites to possess the land of Jericho, Joshua made sure the people followed Gods commands to the letter, in order to not talk themselves out of a victory. After the walls of Jericho fell, and the land was seized, Joshua's reputation preceded him. It was clear the Lord was with him.

A:  It's undeniable the power God unleashes through people with an obedient spirit. The Bible says in 1 Samuel 15:22 that, "Obedience is better than sacrifice."  So many people have sacrificed so much time and effort into things God never told them to do, and wonder why they haven't reaped the benefits of their efforts. Gods grace will always fall on the obedient, and when God does something through you, people won't stop talking about it. Joshua never had to prove what a good leader he was, he had to prove how obedient he was to God, and people followed him. No man's mind can fathom tearing down city walls with a shout, we tend to look for the nearest bulldozer, but a man that's obedient to the mind of God doesn't need any tools.  Joshua's greatest leadership skill was his unwavering obedience to God.  Always remember that men led by obedience have reputations that arrive before they do.

P: God thank You for your instructions. I understand that if I'm obedient to You, that's all the promotion I need. Amen.
