S: Joshua 21:45NLT- Not a single one of all the good promises the LORD had given to the family of Israel was left unfulfilled; everything he had spoken came true.
O: The Israelites finally settled in the promise land and Joshua divided the land up among the 12 tribes of Israel. After the Levites received their portions of land from the 12 tribes, God finally fulfilled his promise to His people. Everything that God told them would happen, happened.
A: I love this verse because it gives us a fundamental truth about Gods character. God is a God of integrity. If God says something, it has to happen, because "God is not a man that He should lie," as it says in Numbers 23:19. Time is not a factor as it pertains to the promises of God. The Israelites wondered in the desert for 40 years before they received the land that their ancestors were promised. There have been things I know that God has promised me for years now that I'm still holding on to, because His word never returns void. Isaiah 55:7 says, "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Gods word was responsible for creation, and those same words are still creating the future we live out day by day. The longer I walk with God, the less I'm looking for Him to say something, because I find rest in what He already said. If you are in a season of life that has left you feeling unfulfilled and you are waiting on a new word from God, go back to what He already said. The pages of His Word, are filled with promises that God has spoken to be a blessing for you.
P: God thank You for the promises of Your Word. Help me to be patient knowing that You always keep Your promises. Amen.
