Prepare For Victory

S: 2 Samuel 5:19- so David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?” The Lord answered him, “Go, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.”

O: After David had taken the city of Jerusalem back for his people, the philistines planned to attack him. Upon hearing the news about the philistines marching against him, David inquires of the Lord about the outcome of the battle. The Lord tells him to go because he will surely deliver the philistines into David's hands.

A: David teaches us all an important principle concerning war in this passage. Before any battle, you should always ask, "Is it worth the fight?" David was always known as a winner in battle because his primary concern was always, "Is God on my side?"  Too many people get involved in battles that they have no business fighting, and wonder why they always feel like they are losing the fight. God intended for us to be winners. The Bible says in Romans 8:37NLT, "...despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us."  We have the power through Christ Jesus to overcome any situation. God will never send you into a battle He intended for you to lose. Everyday we must choose to either succeed with Christ, or surrender without Him. I'm thankful that there is a God I can inquire of before the battle begins.

P: God thank you for this day. I know if you are on my side, I can't lose. Amen.
